KENYA
Hosted by The African Children’s Choir, Kenya
A Kenyan ACC story of children who were kept from the stage, but never from their education.
There was a time when an ACC Kenya choir reached the airport ready to travel, only to be turned back due to government policy. There were tears that day, but also a promise. Whether they could perform or not, the children’s journey would continue.
Today, with no ACC schools in Kenya, the team supports students through local schools, covering school fees, uniforms, and ongoing mentoring.
It is quiet work, but it is changing lives.
FRI 2 Oct - MON 5 Oct - 3 nights
Flying into Nairobi, we’re met by the ACC team with big smiles and hugs—the kind that feel like family.
Day 1 - We visit a school in the slum community where KwaYa has helped fund a project. This is a chance to see the impact firsthand, spend time with the students and staff, and experience the energy and hope within the school community.
Day 2:- A joy-filled village day trip (just over an hour from Nairobi): fetch water, help with cooking, stroll the red-earth paths, laugh lots—then return to Nairobi at sunset, a little tired and very full-hearted.

MON 5 - WED 7 Oct - 3 days/2 nights
Diani Beach
We’ll fly from Nairobi (Wilson) to Ukunda Airstrip—a quick hop of about 1 hour 20 minute. For 3 days / 2 nights we slow right down: sunrise swims, long beach walks on powder-white sand, and lazy afternoons under palms with the village at our doorstep. Optional treats include a simple dhow/snorkel to the reef or a visit to Kaya Kinondo’s sacred forest, but unhurried is the mood. Evenings are for barefoot dinners, starry skies, and the soft hush of the Indian Ocean.
WED AFTERNOON - Return flight to Nairobi

Sheldrick Elephant Nursery
One magical hour with Nairobi’s orphaned calves.
WED 7 OCT - 1 night - Nairobi
THUR 8 Oct – Craft, Elephant Orphanage and Nakuru National Park
We begin at Utamaduni Craft Centre, browsing Maasai beadwork, baskets, fabrics, and carvings, with each purchase supporting local artisans.
Late morning, we head to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, where calves guzzle milk, splash in the mud, and charm with cheeky trunk waves.
After lunch, we drive into the Great Rift Valley and on to Lake Naivasha, arriving at Nakuru National Park by late afternoon.

THUR 8 - SAT 10 Oct - 3 days/2 nights
Day two takes us to Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for rhinos and Rothschild’s giraffe, plus buffalo, lions, and, if lucky, leopard. The lake often glows pink with flamingos and pelicans. Picnic lunches and game drives fill the day before returning to camp.
SATURDAY 10 Oct - Return to Nairobi
Our final morning is gentle—coffee by the lake, a short stroll, then back to Nairobi.
Afternoon - Chance to shop at local markets.
