WHY?

  • To raise funds for and work on special projects in the slums of Kampala and remote areas of Uganda.

​

  • To provide cultural exchange and workshop opportunities for Ugandan children who attend school in the slums of Kampala.

​

WHO?

  • ​​​Ordinary Aussies from all over Australia sign up for a two-week tour to Uganda. Numbers are limited – (20 maximum). 

​

​

  • The tour is geared towards big-hearted Aussie adventurers seeking a life changing experience.

 

  • Ages 18 to 80 years are welcome.  12- 17's are welcome if accompanied by an adult.

HOW?

  • Aussies each fundraise a minimum of $1000 prior to tour to fund the projects we will be working on.

  • They arrange and pay for their own airfares plus pay a package cost which covers accommodation, meals, activities, admin etc.

BUILDING PROJECTS

Fund and work on building projects in the schools and villages;

 

A new toilet at a school, a community centre for a village, repaint schools in the slums, playgrounds at schools, soccer pitch, new classrooms, veggie gardens, etc

WORKSHOPS

​We use any unique skill sets of participants to conduct workshops for the kids in the slums.

 

Over the years these have included such things as:

 

Zumba, Tin Whistle, Arts and Crafts, Drama, Sport (cricket etc), Singing, Aboriginal Hand Painting, Aboriginal Dance, Harmonica etc

Australians and Ugandan choir

SING, DRUM, DANCE

Aussies who would like to sing, team up with 10 graduates (now adults) of The African Children’s Choir to form a performing choir.

This choir performs free concerts for kids in the slums as well as churches and other venues.

Participants can also learn African drumming, dance and/or how to play a musical instrument.

LIVE LIKE A LOCAL

Visit remote villages, where each participant spends a day with a Ugandan family. We eat what they eat, work the crops etc,

WHERE and WHEN

The tour starts in Kampala Uganda, visits remote villages, and ends in Entebbe.
