The Kwaya Management Committee is made up of a team of passionate professionals dedicated to donating their time to making a difference in community.
MARSHA GUSTI - FOUNDER and PRESIDENT
(Business Owner - Clothing Manufacture)
Visionary, advocate and go-getter, Marsha sees problems and turns them into opportunities.
Her deeply caring approach to people coupled with a clear and determined vision to make things happen results in exciting and unique opportunities for communities to be involved in ground breaking projects.
FIONA AITKEN - SECRETARY
(Disability Healhcare Worker)
Fiona is a long term KwaYa member and supporter. Her first trip with KwaYa to Uganda in 2013 impacted deeply on her heart; enough to inspire her to work closely with KwaYa to achieve its objectives as well as return to Uganda in 2015.
Fiona's big bubbly personality is a much treasured asset not only in meetings but "on the job."
TONI NEWELL - TREASURER
Mum of three grown children, Toni knows her maths.
Her attention to detail and dedication to perfection lets the rest of us relax and not worry about the finances. She keeps us on our toes and stretches that dollar when needed.
AMBER GUSTI - MEMBER
Travelholic and organiser extraordinaire, Amber is excited about making our dreams come true.
Our tour and event needs are enthusiastically planned and managed by Amber.
It helps that she is an avid participant in the events and tours we conduct.
MATTHEW HELMERS - MEMBER
CEO Equestrain Queensland
Matt's extensive experience as CEO of Skate Australia and now Equestrian Queensland, both not for profit entities, assists us in many areas of KwaYa's management.
He brings to the table a wealth of knowledge guiding us expertly through the maze of legal requirements.
When he is not playing his favourite role of devil's advocate, his sense of humour is also much appreciated.
Educational Consultant - Dept of Education - Qld
An ability to build a good rapport with teachers whilst possessing a genuine love of working with children ensures Fran is a much sought after consultant in her chosen field of Special Education.
Understanding, patience, supportiveness, creativity and practicality are invaluable qualities embraced by the Kwaya Committee.
Fran is a team favourite. Her wicked sense of humour coupled with her infectious laugh makes for entertaining and fun meetings and/or fundraisers.
BRIAN MELDRUM - AUDITOR
Brian is committed to the local community. He offers his services free of charge to complete Kwaya audits. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Murwillumbah and a life member of the Murwillumbah Apex Club.
