KwaYa Cross-Cultural Connections Workshop - Toowoomba
Sunday - 30 October 2011

Rachel Hore composes, arranges and teaches new repertoire for choirs.  She is in high demand as choir leader and facilitator having worked in the acappella form for over 20 years.

Her songs and arrangements have become a staple for many community choirs from Kalgoorlie to Coffs and beyond.

Rachel is a regular tutor at Wintersong, Spring into Song, You’re the Voice, and Rhythmsong  singing camps. She is equally comfortable conducting large choral events for 500 voices or running a songwriting and percussion workshop to teenagers in a remote community.

Rachel leads cultural tours to Fiji every year, where songs and performances are shared.
She is passionate about the role of singing in bridging cultural differences and helping to build community.

She offers you an experience in sharing the stunning sounds only 4 part a'cappella can create.

Roger Knox possesses a soulful, blue singing style which has been sharpened by his political consciousness.  He is often referred to as the Koori King of Country.

Roger is a Gamilaroi man who was born at Moree, northwest NSW and grew up at Toomelah mission near Boggabilla on the NSW QLD border.

Roger started his musical career as a gospel singer and in the early 1980's defied the odds surviving not one but two plane crashes, suffering burns to most of his body.

With his band, Euraba he has dedicated his life to sharing the gift of music with the world, spending much of his time playing to neglected Aboriginal audiences in remote communities and prisons, as well as touring detention centres and Indian reservations in the US and Canada.

He brings to you the opportunity to learn a song in Aboriginal language.
